12 mile run

This morning I decided to get up at 5:00 to get a run in before my day gets busy.  It has been a few weeks since I have ran Lake Hollingsworth so my mother and I met up to run.  It was very windy and felt great.  Because it was so cool I was able to maintain a 10:30 pace.  I try to run fast but it’s hard. There are so many other runners out there and I am sure I look like a am running as slow as a turtle but at least I’m out there. It would be nice to run a 9 minute mile but will have to continue to work on it.

Today was the first day I was able to do a longer run with my new bigger sized shoes.  My toes don’t hurt so I am hoping I fixed the Morton’s Toe problem.  Another thing I tried today was running with compression socks.  They are awesome!  My calves are not sore.  The socks are tight so I am guessing it doesn’t allow your muscles to move all over the place while running.  I think it is also good for circulation.  I got a ton of compliments today on my bright pink socks.  Michael took a picture of my shoes and socks today and I did not realize just how bright they are.

I am very thankful for my wonderful husband who has delicious pancakes waiting for me when I get home.  He is the best.  He should open his own pancake business because they are just that good.

It’s hard to believe that the holiday season is quickly approaching us.  After the run today, the girls and some friends created some posters for our Trunk or Treat at Shiloh.  We will be having a lot of activities for the kids and lots of trunks that tell the bible stories.  It should be fun on October 31.  Then we will be busy getting ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Time flies.  I am very thankful for all the blessings that God has given to me. I deserve nothing and He gives so much.  I am thankful for the ability to get out and run.  What are you thankful for?

  • Luv the socks! No need to wear the reflective clothing for cars to be able to see you early in the morning. 🙂

  • I’m thankful for an awesome friend. One that puts herself second so many times. She is beautiful inside and out. She is funny. She is humble. She is a loving mother and wife. She loves the Lord Jesus. Thank you Jessica for being that friend. I love you!
